Silk Asymmetrical Dress | Vogue 8968

Silk Asymmetrical Dress | Vogue 8968

Hi Guys!! This past week was the most busy week/weekend I’ve had in a VERY long time and I STAY busy lol

It’s OFFICIALLY summer and in Alabama that means it will be hot until November. You will see me wearing a LOT of easy, breezy dresses lol

adriennes essentials dress I was looking around on Pinterest (I’m telling you ALL great things begin with Pinterest) and I saw a similar dress and I wanted my own version. This is a new look for me, I normally wear things a LITTLE more fitted and with more shaping, but I fell in love.

I used this gorgeous lemon-lime silk and it is just dreamy. I need 100 of these dresses in my  life because I was super comfortable.

I kept my accessories super simple since I decided to wear these fab shoes I got from ZARA. It’s just win win when my shoes are super comfortable. I don’t buy shoes if they hurt when I try them on, but when you get a pair that are ALL DAY comfy and super cute to boot? You have a WINNER lol

Dress: DIY Vogue 8968

Shoes: ZARA

Accessories: Charming Charlie

Pattern Description: Loose-fitting, pullover dress has hem band (cut on crosswise grain) and cap sleeves. A: narrow hem on sleeves. B: sleeve bands.

Pattern Sizing: XS-M

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? I read over them and only used them to make sure I was attaching the hem band correctly, but they are very well written.

Fabric Used: Silk

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: This dress was a little too short for me so I added 5 inches at the shorten/lengthen line so that the front would stop right above my knee.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved this pattern. Nothing to Dislike.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I’m SERIOUSLY considering making it again and that hardly happens because there are SO many other dresses on my list, but I absolutely love it.

Conclusion:
Great pattern if you like this style dress.

I would never have picked that pattern from the line drawing, but after seeing your version I want one! Trouble is our summers end sometimes early Sept and I already have a list of a dozen summer dresses I want to sew. But I sure am tempted by this one as it looks so lovely on you!

You look so fresh and cute in that outfit! Just love those shoes! This is definitely a winner for the hot summer ahead. I’m in Texas so I know about HOT until November (and sometimes until December).
