3 Reasons You Need A Morning Routine

3 Reasons You Need A Morning Routine

Hey guys! I had a different  post for today but my Instagram post yesterday made me change my mind. Let’s talk about 3 reasons you need a morning routine.

3 Reasons You Need A Morning Routine

I HAVE to have a routine. Especially in the mornings. Normally my morning routine begins around 5am. Sometimes earlier but MOST times 5. Every now and then I’ll oversleep and it throws me OFF. Big time.  On a typical day I’m up at 5 I always start my day with prayer. ALWAYS.

3 Reasons You Need A Morning Routine
I won’t turn this into a Soul Food Post but you all know how I feel about my faith and my relationship with God. I can’t get through a day if I don’t START with prayer and literally continue praying through-out the day. We will talk about that later.

Once I finish my prayer I journal, have hot tea and read through whatever book I’m currently reading. Right now it’s Make It Happen by Lara Casey  (very good by the way) I usually spend around an hour doing that and I get the kids up while I make breakfast. I get them off to school and either head straight to my office or I come back  home and start on whatever I need to do for the day.

So let me tell you 3 reasons you need a morning routine:

  1. It sets the tone for the day. Drive your day or it WILL drive you. I seriously believe that the WAY you wake up is the way your day goes. Sure, you can turn it around and have a good day but often times it doesn’t happen quickly.
  2. It’s a reset button. We receive new grace & mercy every morning (Lamentations 3:23) no matter WHAT happened the day before it’s a chance to do it again and do it better.
  3. It encourages you to consistently focus on you. Being wives, and mothers we often put ourselves on the back burner. I USED to be that way. It’s NOT selfish to take care of yourself. Remember that.

Tell me what is your morning routine? Do you have one? If not I hope I’ve encouraged you start one. You will be glad you did.

I have a routine it starts at 7 a.,m. where I prepare my husbands lunch and breakfast., then go back to bed. I wake up later and pray, I love that time of the day because it helps me reflect how fortunate I am although at times I forget. Then I go to work, which is another reason I need to pray sometimes the devil resides in strange places….lol. Anyway, that’s my routine. Thanks for the post.
