Happy 40th Birthday!
Ok so my birthday was November 2 lol. I’m a TAD bit late. But I wanted to come on and share my adventures.
How do I feel about turning 40 this year? I’m really excited. I can’t wait to see what this new “year” has in store for me. This birthday is a LOT different from my last one but honestly I wouldn’t have it any other way. This has been the best birthday to date for many reasons.
It took me a GOOD year but I am whole emotionally and mentally. So many hours with my therapist but listen it was WORTH IT. There was a time when I didn’t even realize that I was broken but boy oh boy was I in tiny pieces. It was really in those pieces that I found Adrienne. I’m still learning about myself, still growing and I’m enjoying the process. I have a joy that no one can take from me and for that I’m grateful.
Well, I kicked off my birthday in beautiful Mexico. It was WONDERFUL. This was my very first passport trip and NOT my last.
It’s been a WHILE since I’ve been able to really travel. This has set some things in motion.
I KNOW this guy was hot. Like I know he was lol
Y’all know I ride 4-wheelers on the regular but this was so different lol. Rocks, mud and hills and stuff but it was AWESOME! They told us to wear our swimsuits under our clothes because we were going to go snorkeling in a cave about half way through.
I don’t know if you can tell, but these were two totally different caves. The one where I’m wearing the orange vest was when I did the snorkeling. The other one was just a “refreshing swim”. BRUH. That water was SO cold lol. Once you got in it, it was ok but GETTING in was the issue lol. It was SO much fun.
Listen. I’ve always been a “tom boy”. I LOVE outdoors (until I see a bug) and I love exploring and doing new things. I had always wanted to zipline and this was the PERFECT time to do so. I am so high up. This was SO much fun. I can’t wait to do it again.
I jumped off a perfectly good boat. I am holding my nose because salt water in your nose is evil. Lawd.
Snorkeling in the ocean was AMAZING and a little intimidating. I mean you have a gazillion fish swimming “at” you lol. I want to scuba dive next lol.
I had to take a picture! I matched lol
And yes I made about 80% of my wardrobe lol. I LOVE this little romper. Im going to wear this OUT when it warms up again.
I got dressed up one night. I mean you have to right?
How thoughtful that the resort left balloons! Happy Birthday! LOL
It wasn’t always just go, go, go. I did get some excellent quiet time in. I also now want a hammock. Please and thank you!
Let me tell you a little about the resort where I stayed.
This is a BEAUTIFUL resort. The service was completely outstanding. Y’all know I LOVE food. The resort food was typical of resort food but it was good. I have NO complaints. I will say that the french toast was probably the best I’ve ever had in my life lol. I ate it EVERYDAY. If you like to get crunk, this is not the resort for you. It’s very laid back. So if you want to truly relax then go for it. I would definitely stay here again.
I came back home to more celebrating lol. I spent the day with my guy. Listen we had a ball, but we always have a ball together.
I have never been to the local gun range and he made that happen. We didn’t shoot just a “regular” pistol we had a Tavor. Listen. SO MUCH ADRENALINE. I had an ABSOLUTE BLAST. According to him I didn’t win but for my first time shooting an AR I did pretty good lol. There was food involved. We went to my absolute favorite restaurant in Birmingham Pappadeaux. I don’t think there is anything on the menu that I don’t like. I KNOW there isn’t. I’ve had almost all of it lol. Super special day.
But wait, it’s not over lol. I went to hang out with my Atlanta seeeeeesters for the weekend. I still owe y’all a post on my fitness journey but until then let’s just start here:
If you know me personally you know about my first spin class maybe 3 years ago? I thought I was going to die. I was hurting so bad for so long after the class I went to the doctor. SERIOUSLY. I vowed to never do it again. I tried it again in July of this year and AGAIN I thought I was going to die. It took me about 3 weeks to get myself together. Well Kimberly got me to a spin class in Atlanta. LISTEN lol.
THIS WAS THE BEST SPIN CLASS I HAVE EVER GONE TO IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. Don’t mention the fact that I’ve only done two prior lol. It was INSANE. A wonderful class. If I can find a class as crunk as this one in Birmingham I would be all over it. That was the fastest 55 minutes of my life. I’m SO glad I did it. And I didn’t die lol. I took a class when I got back home and it was so dull and lackluster lol.
Afterwards I went to eat (where is my food pic? LOL) at The Chicken and the Egg I believe and it was SO good! I will DEFINITELY go back when I’m in Atlanta again. SO GOOD. Then I met up with Jamie and we went to The Garden Party. Listen. It was SO HOT and there were SO MANY PEOPLE. Apparently this was the place to be in Atlanta on a beautiful Saturday. There was a live band, open bar and TONS of food. We stayed until it rained and headed out to the next event…
A birthday dinner at Sage Woodfire Tavern. The food was wonderful!
The cake had me on it! And it was GOOD lol.
One certain someone didn’t want to be in the picture lol. Love you Alesia lol.
Side note: I have NO idea why these pictures aren’t the correct way. I’ve done this post TWICE. Not doing it again lol.
This was an amazing birthday. I’m SO thankful for all the things that I have been through. All the experiences good and not so good because they literally have shaped who I am. I’m so excited and can’t wait to see what happens next.
Until next time!
