A few of my favorite bloggers.

A few of my favorite bloggers.

One of my all time favorite bloggers is back and that inspired this post.

She is NUMBER ONE on my list!

http://tanysewsandknits.blogspot.com/ <—-My number one favorite blogger of all time. Let me tell you why. She is an extremly talented seamstress. She is more than a seamstress. She is super duper gifted. I will never forget, when I first started sewing I was having trouble understanding something. I honestly can't even remember what it was now but I reached out to some more experienced ladies who had been sewing way longer than I have. One of the responses I got back hurt lol. They didn't want to help at all. Yes,  I had all the books, I had been on google and pattern review but nothing was clicking. Trust me when I say I LOOKED everywhere before I reached out for help. Anyway, I still didn't get it. I emailed Tany and asked her if she could help me understand it.

She did a mock up of what I was having trouble with, just on a mini scale so I could actually "see" it. She took pictures and did a step by step tutorial for me. That changed me. She lives sooooooooooooooooooooo far away but took time to help little ole me. She explained it so well that I truly understood. I was so happy and thankful.

That is part of the reason why I love to help the way I do. Someone took time to help me. I'll never treat a person the way I was treated when I reached out for help.

We kept in touch while she was not blogging and it was just good to hear from her and see pictures of her adorable son. I'm SO glad she is back to sewing and blogging!!

Great minds think alike. I have this same post in my drafts folder that I started this week. Trying to narrow my list down because I have so many favorites!

I love the words “BFF in my head”. There are several bloggers that I read that just just speak to me. You cry with them when when they lose someone, get excited for them when when they get married and worry for them when they have challenges. I always feel like I connect the most with sewing bloggers. I just never knew people were obsessed with sewing like I am. I have the urge to invite bloggers to come sew with me all the time, but I think the blogger would think I was a deranged stalker.
The bloggers who really speak to me are –
You (of course) – I love to hear about your family and adore your sewing posts
Diary of a sewing fanatic – I think she is the patron saint of sewing and she is a big girl like me, so her challenges are almost always my challenges
Miss Celie’s pants – her mother just died and I was standing in the halls of the Pentagon sobbing. I love to hear about her life sewing in Baltimore.
The Slapdash Sewist – I love to read about her sewing journey in Washington DC
Male Pattern Boldness – he is so funny and his obsession with sewing is contagious
Amanda’s Adventures in Sewing – her sewing is perfect. It is really inspiring.
Two on two off – her sewing posts are interspersed with posts about moose hunting and salmon fishing, which is so far from my life she could be on another planet, but love her family and sewing life.
There are too many more to comment about…
I love Tany’s sewing. Her projects are amazing and so chic -way out of my league. Your story makes me love her more.
PS if you are ever in Northern VA….:)

    Oh Adrienne, I don’t know what to say… I have tears dropping down my face as I read this… You are a true friend to me and I hold you close to my heart… {{{HUGS}}}

yours is one of my fav blogs…also ladylee and serenity i enjoy theirs as well. there are about 5 more that I read but I don’t know their blog addresses off the top of my head. i like the blogs that talk about a lot of different things and not just one topic. even though yours is a sewing blog mainly i like how you sprinkle other things in there like phone dumps, what’s going on in your life, your random thoughts…i answer you back in my head with your random thoughts..lol….
i’ve met 3 bloggers in person whose blogs I just started out reading and made friendships with them that I love and value. two of them live in Texas like me.
i’m always looking for new blogs to read but there are about 7 core one I try to read every day or at least every other day even if i don’t comment.
i love your story about Tany. i just don’t understand people who refuse to help others. it makes me feel so good when I can help someone else.

Im going to have to look up male pattern boldness. I don’t think I’ve heard of him.
I didn’t know about her mom. That is so sad. We do become connected with them.
    I’ll let you know ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh yes Tany’s blog, I was obsessed! I used to marvel at her Burda magazine projects, impeccable work. Thanks for letting me know she’s posting again. I ‘thought’ that was her posting comments here on your blog ๐Ÿ˜‰
I have a long list of favorites, yours included of course. I really appreciate those who take their personal time and share so much with the rest of us. And Pioneer Woman Cooks…whoa I’ve been obsessed with her blog since I first stumbled upon it. I didn’t even know she had a cooking show until this year!
