How to wear the same dress twice!

How to wear the same dress twice!

Today ends the series on holiday wear. I’m going to show you how to wear the same dress twice!

In case you missed it here are the other posts:

Day One: How to wear a jumpsuit for the holidays.

Day Two: Sequin Pants

When I saw this sequin fabric I HAD to have it. It’s so unique there was NO way I was leaving it. I knew I wanted a sequin dress.

My first look is my version of all out glam. I even took my fitbit off for my pictures lol.

These shoes I have had FOREVER and I actually almost got rid of them during my last shoe purge but I am SO glad I kept them! They were perfect for this dress.

I went with my most sparkly long earrings that I had in my collection and my biggest sparkly bracelet. No necklace looked best. Believe me I had on a BIG sparkly one and took it off lol.

one dress two waysI’m not sure who said what and grabbed my attention but the look on my face is HILARIOUS lol

My next look I toned the dress down just a little bit. Perfect for wearing it to the office or to a day time holiday gathering.

I decided to layer the dress with a white button down and a classic black pump.

I went with my favorite layered chunky pearl necklace, large pearl earrings and my simple single strand of pearls bracelet to finish off the look.

For those of you who sew here is a review of the dress:

McCall’s 6886

Pattern Description: Close-fitting, pullover dresses have neckline variations, and stitched hems.

Pattern Sizing: 6-14. I made the 14

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? I have made this dress four times I believe and I haven’t had to use them.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the simplicity of this dress.

Fabric Used: Sequin

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:  I made a muslin FIRST.  I ended up removing almost 2 inches from the center back because it was pooling.  SO glad I did a muslin first. This pattern is made for a knit. Even though it’s close fitting I went up a size because my fabric has almost NO stretch. I made view A without the sleeves. I cut two of the back instead of cutting it on the fold because I knew I was going to have to add a zipper to get in and out of it. I removed the sequin from the seam allowance and used a sew in interfacing before I inserted an invisible zipper.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? This will forever be a TNT pattern. BUY SEVERAL of these if you like it lol.

Conclusion: Great pattern and great wardrobe builder.
