I made view A
Pattern Sizing: 8-16

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? SUPER Easy. I made this dress in one sitting. Because I hate to hem, I did it the next day.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Nothing, It's fabulous.

Fabric Used: Ponte roma Knit

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I didn't add a zipper.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I might make another view. I love this pattern. It is very well drafted and went together well.

Conclusion: If you are like me and you've had this pattern in your stash FOREVER, take it out and make it up lol. You will be glad you did lol.

Here are some additional pictures:

The caridgan I made from a mans t-shirt. I could NOT find what I was looking for RTW, so I whipped this one up really quick. It still wasn't exactly what I wanted but it worked.
IMG_20110305_125831
Just a regular mans tshirt…
IMG_20110305_130053-1
I tried it on, then had Tony pin it where I told him. I just basically tapered the sleeve.
IMG_20110305_130218
oops, upside down. I cut it right below the pins then cut it for length.
IMG_20110305_151859
Cut it down the middle…
IMG_20110305_154700
Added bias tape to each front edge section, sewed it down, then folded it over and sewed that side down.

And there ya have it. This was NOT my original idea. I saw it on a blog somewhere. When I find the link again I'll link y'all.
Have a good one!
Toodles!

Did I ever mention that I hate you?? Why do you continue to flaunt that your cute little can wear a sleeveless dresses at this time of year while I’m still wearing winter boots, gloves, heavy wool coat, etc! LOL. The dress is really cute and fits well. I’m going to have to steal that t-shirt idea!

The man’s t-shirt altered to be a cardigan is a fabulous idea! And mmmmm, I use that stitch witchery for a hem trick ALL the time! This is a lovely outfit on you.

  • sheila/ 10.03.2011Reply

Lovely dress and it looks great with the cardigan. I have been wanting to try the t-shirt-to-cardigan and now remembering that I purchased a dvd at Nancy Notions… Expressive sweatshirts. Going to look for it tonight.

  • Myra/ 10.03.2011Reply

TOO CUTE!!! I love this dress on you! You’re so inspiring me to do more dresses!! I love everyone you’ve made. I’m still waiting on your remake of the vogue one…1218 (Donna Karan)I want to buy that one and try it, but if you can’t make it work, I’m not going to bother!
I hate hemming too and use my blind hem foot whenever possible! I don’t believe I’ve hand-hemmed anything in years!

  • Kisha/ 10.03.2011Reply

That dress is too cute! And of course you know I love the self made cardi (The tutorial came from xoxoTrina. Adrienne I may have to purchase this pattern..looking at it, it seems to be my kinda pattern 4 pieces and a quick and simple sew:). And your flower came out great!

  • Seams Fabulous (Angela)/ 10.03.2011Reply

The dress is too cute and I love the cardigan idea!

  • Brenda Jefferson/ 11.03.2011Reply

That dress is gorgeous and so is the cardi. You did such a great job. I am lmbo at your dressform comment. I had to break down and buy another one. Evenso, I still have Mrs. Leaning 2 One Side, Broke Neck, Broken Springs “Lizzie”. I can’t seem to part ways with her. BTW, her butt did not match mine either. LOL Thanks for sharing, Adrienne.

  • katie/ 11.03.2011Reply

  • Kelly/ 11.03.2011Reply

Nice dress, this looks like something you could make at least once each summer. I love the cardigan idea. Close up of the shoes please 😉

  • Sewingshay/ 11.03.2011Reply

You better go ‘head with your (creative)bad self. Love the outfit.

  • Beth Conkwright/ 11.03.2011Reply

Love both pieces. Look great together.

  • Ebony/ 11.03.2011Reply

Love the dress and cardigan. Oh and the shoes are to die for.

  • renee/ 11.03.2011Reply

Okay, I need a slowed down, super simple, for dummies tutorial on how to do the cardigan. THAT would make me sew something other than paper with my very expensive sewing machine. I can never find cardigans that fit right now. Glad to see you are doing better.

  • Joy/ 11.03.2011Reply

Cardigan from a long-sleeve man’s T-shirt? Seriously?! I understand it was someone else’s idea but your executiion of that idea appears flawless. And the shoes? AWE.SOME. Oh, why was I born with these wide, flat Fred Flintstone feet??!! (sigh) I’ve decided your blog is bad for my self esteem, thankyouverymuch! (just kidding)

  • Buttahfly/ 11.03.2011Reply

LOL at Rachelle. It’s been raining here, but I’ve switched to strap sandles justifiying that my bare feet will dry faster than any shoes can. It’s true. And it’s cute.
I like the cardi idea. Maybe I’ll try embelssing mine with some ribbon.

  • Dei/ 11.03.2011Reply

This is so creative the t-shirt. And the dress is doing it for me. Looking good girl.

  • Nikki/ 11.03.2011Reply

I was set to comment on the dress…and shoes, OF COURSE. Then I kept scrolling down and got to your “cardigan”. I don’t know what you had in mind but what you came up with is FABULOUS!!! And the flower took me over the edge. Nevermind your original idea, this one is a win to me!

  • Syl/ 12.03.2011Reply

Great cardigan. I like the flower addition.

  • toy/ 12.03.2011Reply

  • Trina/ 16.03.2011Reply

LOVE your cardi from a tee! Thanks for the linky love. I just happened to find you via my sitemeter 🙂
Your dress is amazing too! I haven’t quite been brave enough to try dresses, but now that I have a serger, I have a lil more incentive to try it 🙂 Happy sewing!
