Sweater Tunic & Jeans

Sweater Tunic & Jeans

Hey guys! I hope it’s been an amazing week so far. YES, I know it’s only TUESDAY but still lol. I LOVE to dress up but there are times when I need to casual it down some. Last week was one of those times.

I had a LOT of errands to run and a LOT to do. It’s always like that for Magic City Classic. I went to a brunch and I honestly didn’t want to be worried about pumps and such so I pulled out my favorite and most comfy jeans and I made a cute sweater tunic. It’s really all about the tunic lol.

I love tunics and I will wear them constantly this season. They are so easy to wear and work with just about anything. I DID say just about lol.

I’m really into neutrals and grey right now so when I picked up this sweater knit out of my stash I knew it would be perfect. It’s a little thin and transparent between the circles so I wore a black tank underneath.

Did I mention I’m in LOVE with combat boots? No? Oh ok. I’m in love with combat boots. It was really the perfect look. I was cute, casual AND comfortable. It works!

For those of you who sew, here is a review:

Butterick 5993

Pattern Description: Very loose-fitting wrap, top and tunic have narrow hems, and wrong side may show. A and B: stitched sides form openings. B: hook & eye and purchased closure. C and D: single-layer collar and shaped hemline. I made view D.

Pattern Sizing: XS-M. I made the Medium

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? I only looked at the directions when I attached the cowl. Make sure you mark ALL pattern pieces or you will be confused like I was lol.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the style of this tunic.

Fabric Used: Sweater Knit

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None. The armscye is very low on this tunic. I didn’t make any changes, I just wore a tank top underneath.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I don’t know if I will make this one again but I do love it and recommend it.

Conclusion: Great pattern. Perfect addition to your wardrobe if you like this style.

I love everything you sew. I have been following you for the past year on Pattern Review and must say you are one of the best, if not the best seamstress I have seen on this site. I also read your blog. You need to try out for Project Runway!
