Southern Women’s Show Fashion Show Re-Cap
Hey guys! I promised a recap and here it is.
There is SO much work that goes into a fashion show. They are probably my least favorite thing to do. Well, my least favorite thing to do during the process. Let me tell you, if you are creative then you understand how you can change your mind on a whim. IT THROWS OFF THE TIMELINE AND THE PROCESS lol
Not only that but SOMETIMES (like this time) I had models to fall through and fabric shipments that were delayed. I was pulling my hair out, crying and eating junk but I got through it thanks to some amazing support lol.
Here are some highlights:
Here is the entire collection together. THIS is the moment when it’s ALL worth it. At the end. No lie. During the process I promise I question my life decisions. SMH. I really am proud of each piece that I created. It’s all a labor of love. I don’t think I have the words to adequately express how I feel watching each piece go down the runway. My hands have been blessed by the best and my hands created each piece. It STILL amazes me that I can take fabric and make it into something amazing.
My theme was “supposed” to be Unforgettable Gowns. That changed. Instead I showed non-traditional Bridal Wear.
So for my first look I loved for a bridesmaid, possibly a beach wedding and I wanted all of the garments to be something that you could wear again and again. This one fits the bill.
Everyone needs a black dress in their closet. I love the back of this which you can’t see here but I’ll upload a pic of it later lol. Trust me, its cute lol.
There is clearly a jumpsuit theme. I am addicted and they are just so wonderful. Don’t you agree? One piece dressing at it’s finest. The beauty of custom is that these items can literally be made using (almost) any fabric. It can be as glam or as casual as you would like it.
Jamica is my living barbie doll. She can literally wear anything and make it look fantastic. She loves all things vintage and I knew this dress would be perfect for her. Perfect for a vintage bride.
Now like I said, I love pieces that you can wear again and the one major complaint I hear from bridesmaids is that they can NOT wear their dresses again. This one you can. It’s two pieces. A peplum top and a pencil skirt. Both will look amazing in a wedding and will make great wardrobe staples in your closet.
This dress literally sparkled under the lights. You all know I LOVE sequin but this one made my heart swell to see it sparkle the way it did. Seriously.
Little Miss stole the show lol. She’s SO cute and don’t you just love her lil hand on her lil hip? LOL
This was my FAVORITE piece.
(I DON’T KNOW WHY THESE ARE SIDEWAYS! THEY ARE CORRECT ON THE BACKEND. UGH)
I LOVE the pearls! Talk about non-traditional. A friend of mine told me she would just wear it just because lol. I probably would too lol.
These are probably two of my favorite shots. I am teary eyed looking at them now. The sheer joy that you feel at THIS moment makes everything so worth it. I wish I could describe it but I can’t articulate it at all.
One of the presentations that I’ll share. Listen. I was all teary eyed. Y’all know I’m emotional but this was just so sweet. I DID cry when I read the card lol. I was alone so it worked out well lol.
This was great but I’m glad it’s over lol. Now to focus on rebuilding my wardrobe (more on that later lol), holiday sewing and focusing on prom season.
Later y’all!
Adrienne
