Dressing the teens! Simplicity 1616… A Review

Dressing the teens! Simplicity 1616… A Review

Kayla came home from a recent trip to the mall just super excited . She was talking fast and in this really high pitch tone that her voice defaults to when she is very excited lol.

Kayla1She told me about this skirt she saw that she "HAD" to have. Now she had her OWN money at the mall but the skirt was $65 and she didn't want to spend that much on ONE item. What did she do? She showed her mom a picture and asked if she could make it lol
Kayla1Kayla is tall and steadily growing. She is 5'6 now. EVERY now and then she finds a maxi skirt/dress that will hit right where she wants it. She is happy she has a mom who can sew lol.
Kayla1I'm sure you can tell by the pictures that she loves the skirt. I've made her several so the next time you see her in this there will be no need for a review, I'll just be showing off pretty pictures.
For those of you who sew, here is a review…
Pattern Description: Misses’ yoked skirts. Knit A, B, C are flared in maxi length or with
hi-low hem or straight in knee length with ruching. Woven D, E with bias
cut yoke and elastic waist are gathered in maxi or above knee length.

Pattern Sizing: 8-16

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

YES!

Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn't follow these but I did look over them and they seem very, very easy.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? My daughter loved this style skirt. It was an exact match to the inspiration picture she showed me.

Fabric Used: Rayon Jersey

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I've made this one several times already. I highly recommend it.

Conclusion:Great pattern if you like this style.

Oooooh my skirt! That’s it I am going to make this sometime this week. This is the second time I’ve seen someone post this today. I have the pattern cut out, just need to cut out the fabric and sew it up. Your daughter is too cute in hers!

Thank you! For this one she picked what was in my stash. For the other ones I’ve made her she shopped for her own fabric.
She is back and forth with it. Sometimes she wants to learn other times not. My oldest daughter is serious about learning.

I’ve made this skirt using the directions and they are very easy. I’m 5’9″ and that yoke is really cool for adjusting it to the length you want. I made boring black, but that red is on fire! LOL! Beautiful!

A few months ago I bought a maxi skirt at the j crew outlet on sale and I am now in LOVE with that skirt….don’t you hate it when you buy something and then wish you’d bought it in every color but you didn’t know when you were buying it that you’d love it that much lol
