Side Drape Dress

Hey guys! I hope you all are having an amazing week. I truly am! I am so excited about this side drape dress!

I wanted something cool and comfortable to wear to my Grand Opening Celebration  and of COURSE I had to make something.

My inspiration for this dress came from my shoes. First. I am almost always inspired by my shoes.

I absolutely LOVE the side drape. Yes it’s fall but the temps still feel like summer, well they did when I took this picture so I pulled in some fall colors to balance it out.

Another thing that I love about this dress is the fit. It has a very relaxed fit but the fabric belt cinches it in. I don’t have a defined waist so I always have to create one.

My accessories are relatively simple. A statement necklace, stud earrings and of course a sparkly bracelet.

For those of you who sew, here is a review:

Vogue 8898 (Out of Print)

Pattern Description: Loose-fitting, pullover dress has right shoulder pleats forming drape, and narrow hem. B:shoulder tie. B and C: self belt, right side opening.

Pattern Sizing: XS-Medium. I made the medium.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow?I didn’t use them but they are very well written.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Loved the style.

Fabric Used: Rayon Jersey

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I don’t know if I will sew it again but if you can find this one get it if you like this style.

Conclusion: Great pattern. Went together very well and was exactly what I wanted for my event.
