Pussy Bow Dress

I adore dresses. I LOVE bows. Put them together and you have a winner.

The Pussy Bow isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. It was ALL over the Gucci Fall 2015 runway and I’m here for it.

I’m telling you the little love affair I’m having  with grey right now is real. I’m trying to step away from it but it is the perfect neutral.

I absolutely LOVE this dress. I love dresses period. They are so classic, feminine and it’s an INSTANT outfit. No need to pair a top with a bottom. Just put it on and go.

For those of you who sew, here is a review:

I love this pattern. I’ve made it a couple times. You can see it here and here.

Butterick 5947

Pattern Description: Dress has fitted, lined bodice variations with back princess seams, semi-fitted skirt, back zipper and self belt. A: front tucks. B: side front button bodice. C: back slit. B and C: front princess seams.
Pattern Sizing:  I made the 12
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? I hardly followed the instructions. I did glance over them and they were very straight forward.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved the simple style of this dress.
Fabric Used: Poly blend suiting

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:  I added a bow to the neckline

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? This dress will become a TNT for me when I need a simple dress to showcase some amazing fabric.

Conclusion: This is an excellent pattern. I love it. I need to purchase it again because all the great ones end up OOP.

    Hello!
    Love the dress 🙂
Do you have any idea where I can find patterns to fit a size 54 bust? I am a sewing newbie and I am having a hard time finding patterns to fit me.

    Thanks
    Toya

Hey!! Thank you so much! I don’t know if they do but you will have to do some heavy modifying to get the fit you would like. Fit for Real People by Sandra Betzina is a good book to have in your sewing library.
