Pretty In Pleats! | McCall’s 5591

Pretty In Pleats! | McCall’s 5591

Hey ya’ll!

I can FINALLY blog lol woohoo!

adriennes essentials box pleated skirt

I’m in LOVE with pleated skirts. I adore box pleats. I think they are flattering on just about anyone. I’ve made this skirt before, you can see that HERE.

I was fabric shopping in New York last year when I saw this fabric and HAD to have it. At the time, I didn’t know what I would make with it but I just so happen to run my hand across it on my shelf a couple of weeks ago and knew it would be a pleated skirt.

I paired my skirt with a simple fitted white t-shirt, but I wanted some color close to my face so I went with a bold orange necklace. I kept my earrings and bracelet simple, yet sparkly lol

adriennes essentials box pleated skirtI don’t wear really short skirts so this length was perfect. It hits right below my knee. Not too short and not midi-length. Just perfect for me to wear to church.

Shoes: Ivanka Trump (They have sold out of the orange)

Purse: Angelique Small Satchel

Accessories: Charming Charlie

For those of you who sew, here is a review:

McCall’s 5591 (Pattern is now OOP)

Pattern Description: Mid-knee length, pleated skirts have faced yoke and back zipper closure; skirt A has slash front pocket with band and contrasting lower band; skirts B and C have side seam pockets; skirt B has carriers and sash; skirt C has ribbon trim at lower edge.Pattern Sizing: 6-12
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? I’ve made this one before so I don’t have to follow the instructions, I did glance over them and they are written very well. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Love this pattern.Fabric Used: I’m not sure of the content. It’s not linen. Maybe a linen poly blend, but it holds the pleats well.Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None. I didn’t add pockets.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? This has already been made again. Just waiting to wear it 🙂

Conclusion:  If you can find this pattern, grab it. It’s the perfect box pleat pattern.

That’s all for today! Toodles!

I love this, Adrienne! Is it View B? That length that hits right beneath the knee is my own personal preference too. The whole outfit is really pretty!
