Pastel Pink Cape
Pastel Pink Cape
l think we skipped fall and went directly to winter but I am so excited about it. I have NEVER been this smitten with outerwear. I wanted a pastel pink cape.
I call it a cape but you can call it a poncho. I just feel awesome with it on lol. It’s all Olivia Pope-ish lol.
I’ve been getting my swimming in and I ran behind schedule. I didn’t have time to “fix” my hair before my meeting so I slicked it back lol. I LOVE IT! I absolutely love having my hair this short!
It was COLD yesterday so I layered up. I added this blanket scarf and I’m smitten with those as well. Trust me you will see more lol.
I kept my accessories very simple. I’m in love with pastels and grey right now. I thought these very very light grey shoes would work wonderfully.
Cape/Poncho DIY: McCall’s 6209 / Shoes: Nine West / Handbag: Charming Charlie
For those of you who sew, here is a review:
Pattern Description: Oversized ponchos A, B, C, D, E have topstitch trim and shaped hemline; poncho A has belt; ponchos B, C have collar with tie ends; poncho D has hood and fringe trim; poncho E has collar.
Pattern Sizing: XS-M I made the small
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn’t follow them. They look well written.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Loved the style.
Fabric Used: Wool Blend
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made bigger holes and made my belt wider and longer.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I’ve already made this again in grey omitting the holes for the belt.
Conclusion: GREAT pattern! Pick it up if you don’t have it in your stash.

Oh yeah!!!! I love the cape, the white, and the awesome pulled back hair! You look amazing Adrienne! Coincidently, I pulled out my pastel, pink wool last night, it’s on my sewing table as I type. I had a jacket in mind. I have just changed my mind. I see a cape coming soon!
