Oversized Cowl Draped Sweater

Hey there! Happy Monday! I am so not refreshed and super tired this morning lol. It was a LONG working weekend and that was really no fun but I got a LOT done so I am happy about that lol. I’m tired, but what can I say lol. I’m just being honest lol

It is NO secret that I ENJOY the cooler seasons. I am SOOOOOO glad the temperature is starting to drop a tad bit lol.

16I fell in love with this oversized cowl draped sweater pattern when it first came out. I could not WAIT to make it.

I have always been a draped cowl lover. And purple? It’s QUICKLY becoming my absolute favorite color. If you follow me on Periscope (essentialsbya) then you know I just got a purple/sparkly manicure lol.

The temp was in the 40’s when I woke up Saturday morning and I could not WAIT to wear this. This is a fairly thin sweater knit that I picked up from Hancock Fabrics but it’s WARM. I knew it had to be very cool when I wore this.

Working with such a rich purple, I used these great oversized gold buttons that I picked up at Joann’s Fabrics.  Wearing my FAVORITE Gap jeans and boots that Tony purchased for my birthday last year and you have a winner! I have two more of these that I will be living in!

For those of you who sew, here is a review:

McCall’s 7262

Pattern Description:  Loose-fitting sweater coats and poncho have shaped hemline, wrong side shows and narrow hem. A: Layered sleeves. B: Stitched hem on sleeves. A and B: Draped front extends into back collar, and front button band and conceal snap closing. C: Cut on crosswise grain, mock band and snap closing.

Pattern Sizing: 8-16. I cut the 12

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? The directions are VERY well written. I didn’t use them but did look over them for the review.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the style.

Fabric Used: Sweater Knit from Hancock Fabrics

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I moved the placement of the snap. IMO it was too high where the pattern suggested it.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I’ve already made two more that I can’t wait to wear.

Conclusion: Great pattern. Perfect for fall layering.

Have a wonderful day!

Adrienne
