Mint Green & Polka Dots | McCall’s 6438

Mint Green & Polka Dots | McCall’s 6438

Hey y’all! Hope your weekend was a great one!

We really enjoyed Mother’s Day around these parts. It was an easy laid back day and I love those.

familyI can’t believe all the kids smiled and weren’t being goofy lol.

JNjn2jn3Apparently Kayla was trying to direct Jaelyn’s photo shoot lol. We did manage to get ONE good picture lol

sistersSisterly love. Awwwwwwww lol

kd2Kayla looks so cute sporting her naturally curly hair and her Stitched9 double peplum mini shirt lol and she even SMILED lol

shoesLOL we are all so different lol.

adriennes essentials mint skirt2I kept my outfit simple with this white t-shirt (seriously Wal-Mart has THE best white t-shirts. I have over a dozen of these lol) mint skirt,

shoes 2fun shoes

and statement necklace.

adriennes essentials mint skirtThe correct underpinnings are just necessary in my book. If my clothes are even remotely sheer I always wear a tank. I never leave home without a slip, but I don’t want that “outline” showing under my clothing. Call me odd lol.

T-shirt: Wal-Mart

Necklace: Unknown, Similar HERE

Skirt: DIY McCall’s 6438

For those of you who sew, here is a review:

Pattern Description: MISSES’ SKIRTS: A,B,C,D skirts are close fitting at waist and very loose fitting at hips. B has skirt underlay. C,D have self-lined interfaced yokes. D has hook and eye closures.

Pattern Sizing: 6-14

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn’t use the instructions but I did look over them and they seem well written and easy to follow.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Loved the look of this skirt.

Fabric Used: Lightweight denim

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: This skirt is SHORT. I added an additional 5 inches to it and made the waistband about 3 inches wider.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I will make this again. I already have it cut out 🙂 I highly recommend this if you like this style skirt.

Conclusion: Great pattern, very well drafted and a great staple for any wardrobe.

Hey I love your mint green skirt, but was wondering for this pattern where did you get the sash. I would love to make a skirt with a sash this size.

Thank you! I just measured the length and width that I wanted and sewed it together. There was no pattern for it. Hope that helps!
