Maui | What I’m Wearing | McCall’s 6744

Maui | What I’m Wearing | McCall’s 6744

Hey Y’all!

Maui was  A M A Z I N G!

I’m still editing pictures (I took a gazillion) so as soon as I finish those I’ll talk about our trip in a few posts. I’ll try to do it in 2 parts but it just might be a part 1, 2 & 3.

When I started sewing for this trip, I knew I wanted ultra comfortable yet very fashionable. I didn’t want anything that was going to stick to me and if you know me well, you know I don’t wear very much form fitting stuff anyway.  I wasn’t quiet sure what the weather would be like but I knew I couldn’t go wrong with dresses, dresses and more dresses. I did take some warm clothing for a hike we were supposed to take and some shorts and t-shirts but most of the trip I was in a maxi dress.

I’ve made this dress before. For some reason I can not find that old entry but here it is the first time I made it:

maxi 1smI love that it’s so easy to dress up or down, but back to the green and black maxi lol

adriennes essentials green and black maxi dressIt was the most perfect thing I could wear. Great during the day for all the tourist-y things we did , perfect in the evenings for a walk on the beach and just enough sexy for my hubby 😉

For those of you who sew, here is a review:

McCall’s 6744

Pattern Description: Pullover dresses have bodice variations, elasticized (seamed) waist, and narrow hem. A and B: fitted bodice. C and D: mock wrap, very loose-fitting bodice with elasticized shoulders.Pattern Sizing: XS-2X I’m wearing a size MediumDid it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? These are great instructions. Perfect for any level, especially beginners. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved the style of this dress.Fabric Used: ITY Knit

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: No changes made.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? This is a TNT (Tried and True) for me. It’s a great way to showcase some beautiful fabric.

Conclusion:  Great pattern, very well drafted. It’s a winner in my book!
