Little Red Dress

Little Red Dress

Little Red Dress

There is nothing more classic than a little red dress. I made a red dress last year that I fell in love with. I needed a “new” dress for my anniversary so I made this one.

Too bad I couldn’t save it for my anniversary. It is however perfect for date night : )

This dress is available for custom order. You can click HERE to order.

Please be sure your email address is correct. You will receive an e-packet to complete before your order is processed.

Little Red Dress

It has been BEYOND cold here so I pulled out my fur. I love this jacket.

Little Red Dress

One thing I love about this dress is the ruching on the sides. I can’t remember who it was but someone said ruching hides a multitude of sins. THAT is the gospel truth lol.

Little Red Dress

This was the quickest photoshoot EVER. I was freezing lol but I had to show you the dress 🙂

Little Red Dress

I tried four different  shoes before I decided on my favorite red ones. They are almost the exact same color red. I LOVE these. I wanted my dress to be the focal point but I still needed to sparkle. I love this statement necklace. Perfect piece for this neckline. A sparkly bracelet, studs and my mirrored clutch finished off the look.

For those of you who sew, here is a review:

Burda 6829

Pattern Description: Fitted dress with gathered side.
Pattern Sizing:  8-18

This dress IS TRULY FITTED. Talk about negative ease.

The picture on the envelope  IMO does NOT show that this is a fitted dress. Maybe it’s the fabric but it just looks REALLY loose on the models.

I don’t like my clothes to look painted on but  I do love a good fit. I cut my normal size and I had to let it ALL the way out. I BARELY have any seam allowance. I would go up a size and get your desired fit from there.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?  The instructions were ok. I found it confusing when I had to attach the front to the back. I ended up doing it my own way. I will say that I was a LITTLE sleepy and trying to fight my sleep so that may be why I was confused.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved the design lines. Perfect for a variety of figures.

Fabric Used: Ponte Knit

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I MIGHT make this again in black. I highly recommend it.

Conclusion: Great pattern if you like this style.

I love the dress. I used to have a green dress just like this. Now that makes me wonder what happened to the green dress. I saw older ladies at church wearing furs Sunday. I don’t own one. Maybe I’ll get one later

Thank you! I got my fur from the CLEANERS. Well one of my moms friends got it for me. Someone left it for a long time so they only had to pay the price of the cleaning to get it. I LOVE it.

Love the dress! How does the front behave when you sit? Does it gape at all?

    • AEadmin/ 13.01.2015Reply

Thank you! It didn’t gape at all.

Hey there, how’ve you been?! Happy New Year to you and the family. Your dress is FANTASTIC.
I’m SO trying to stave off the sewing bug, I only have 2 hands, but the pull is strong than the broken zipper on my winter coat, lol! That’s what’s doing it.

I can’t take the diminished quality of the clothing out here. Time to take the plunge. Maybe combine knitting with sewing? Help!
