Golden Globes Best Dressed
Hey guys! So the Golden Globes were this past weekend and I’ll be honest and tell you that I ONLY watch for the fashion. You can look at Vogue.com Golden Globes Best Dressed list and while I liked theirs, I added a few of my own – for reasons that I’ll explain hehehe. Let’s get to it.
I HAVE to start with Taraji P. Henson in Stella McCartney. She looks fabulous in this classic silhouette. Not to mention I absolutely LOVE a white dress.
While on the subject of white dresses, Alicia Vikander is gorgeous in this Louis Vuitton dress. It is SO feminine. I can certainly see myself in something similar to this during the summer. I absolutely love this dress.
Ok, so I CLEARLY have a thing for white dresses lol. I LOVE this Yves Saint Laurent Couture dress on Saoirse Ronan. This is greek goddess at it’s best. I LOVE this.
I am a HUGE Jennifer Lawrence fan ESPECIALLY during award time. She is just kind of amazing. She is FIERCE in this Dior dress. and this Chopard jewelry? YES MA’AM. I would love to recreate a similar look for myself without the cut-outs.
Ohhhhhh J-Lo. This Giambattista Valli Haute Couture dress is doing a LOT, but J-Lo is rocking the heck out of it. This is the type of dress that will wear YOU if YOU don’t wear it and she is definitely wearing it.
Amy Schmuer looks so amazing in this off the shoulder, color block Atelier Prabal Gurung gown. What else do I love about this amazing dress? DUH the POCKETS!!!!
I am NOT a Lady Gaga fan by any means but this neckline is STUNNING on her. I love the neckline and the train. I don’t like whatever is going on in the hip area but this Atelier Versace dress is simply beautiful.
Emmy Possum got it ALL the way right with this classic red Armani Prive dress. I mean STUNNING. It’s a classic that is just beautiful.
Lisa McCarthy has had some fails over the years but she looks AMAZING in this silhouette. It really isn’t about what size you are but DRESSING for your size and shape. Find out what flatters your body type and rock it. That makes all the difference.

I liked all of your choices but would leave Melissa McCarthy off the list. I hated that shiny shack she was wearing. IF she gets the silhouette right, I feel like she misses on the fabric. I’m still waiting for her to wow me on the Red Carpet. However, I would add Viola Davis to the list – I loved her Marchesa dress simply because it’s not a shape or fabrication that she normally wears. So she stepped out of her comfort zone to try something new that looked lovely on her.

Although I did not personally watch the show I agree with your picks. All of the ladies look great, but if I have to pick my favorite, it would be JLo….she is wearing that dress. Not many could pull that off I don’t think.

I agree with most of your picks as well. The Gaga dress is gorgeous but does has a Vivienne Westwood-vibe in the hip area. I’ve never been a fan of that.. I especially liked J. Lo’s dress because of the cape option. She looks great in nearly everything! I thought Amy Schumer’s dress was nice but Melissa McCarthy’s was underwhelming. While I wasn’t dazzled I was still glad to see an entertainer larger than a size 2 have a couture moment.
