Gold & White Zipper Detail Dress

Hey guys! I have so much to show you guys over the next couple of weeks.

When I say I have been busy, I have TRULY been busy but it’s all good and I LOVE it! I’m starting to draft more of my own patterns and it’s so much fun! I love the direction God is taking me in.

I love gold and I love white so this gold and white dress just had to happen.

One of my friends does AMAZING work with leather. She used some zippers on an item and I fell in LOVE. She inspired me to use some of the zippers that I have but in a different way.

I have had this gold and white fabric for a while. I hardly EVER make something with fabric as soon as I get it. If I do, I LOVE the fabric and just can’t wait or there is something specific I want to make and can’t wait lol.

Want to see how I used the zippers?

E V E R Y T I M E, every single time that I take pictures, something questionable happens and Kayla always captures my expression lol. So much stuff happens in Birmingham lol

For those of you who sew here is a review:

For the top I used McCall’s 7162

Pattern Description:  Pullover tops (close-fitting through bust) have shoulder strap and peplum variations, invisible back zipper and narrow hem.

Pattern Sizing: 14-22

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Kinda lol

Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn’t really use them but they are well written.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?  I liked the silhouette of this top.

Fabric Used: Cotton Sateen

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Instead of adding the peplum I drafted a pleated skirt and used inverted pleats.  I used zippers for straps.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Not sure if I will sew this again, but I do recommend it.
Conclusion: Great pattern.

Be Inspired. Live Inspired. Be an Essential Woman.

Love your use of the zipper as a strap. I had to pin that one to my sewing board. I will have to try that design idea. Your dress looks great and you are always so well styled.
