Floral & Animal Print

Floral & Animal Print

Hey guys! I hope you all are having a great week. We are HALFWAY to the weekend!

I love animal print (there may be a SLIGHT addiction) and I LOVE floral prints, so combining the two was a no-brainer.

I LOVE a great dress. I promise dresses are the most effortless dressing. It’s ALMOST a good as a t-shirt and jeans. I could live in dresses. ESPECIALLY during the hot Alabama summers.

floral and animal printWhat can make a dress better? POCKETS.  I’ve started adding them to EVERYTHING. They just make everything better. Don’t you agree?

I kept my accessories VERY simple. I wanted the focus to be on the dress and the shoes. Too many accessories can kill an outfit. Less is more in this case.

floral and animal printThe back is a little low on this one but I was still able to wear a regular bra.

I love this dress and I actually can’t wait to wear it again.

For those of you who sew, here is a review:

Vogue 9100

Pattern Description: Dress has close-fitting, lined bodice with princess seams, side pockets, narrow hem and back zipper. Topstitching. Note: Separate pattern pieces are included for cup sizes A, B, C, D.

Pattern Sizing: 6-14 I cut the 12 on top and graded out to a 14. I think the cup sizing may be a TAD bit off. I used the B cup based on my measurements and it was STILL a little big.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? I glanced over them for the sake of the review but they are well written.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love this style dress.

Fabric Used: Italian Cotton Silk that I’ve had in my stash almost 5 years.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I doubt if I make this one again. I will caution you to make sure your pattern pieces match BEFORE you cut this one out. Another sewing friend was making this and she checked the pattern FIRST (cut out the pattern pieces before she cut her fabric to make sure all the notches lined up) and the skirt back was ATLEAST 6 inches shorter than the front pattern piece and the notches didn’t match up.  That was NOT the case  with my pattern but I did buy another one just to see and that one WAS messed up.

Conclusion: Great pattern. Very flattering and a great addition to my wardrobe.
