Culotte Jumpsuit |Spring Trend!

Culotte Jumpsuit Spring Trend

Culotte Jumpsuit |Spring Trend!

It’s not spring yet but it’s NEVER too early to start sewing for spring/summer. It will be here before you know it.  When Vogue released their spring patterns I fell in LOVE with Vogue 9075.

I have never been a fan of culottes. The ones I would try on in the store the hem would just hit me in a weird part of my leg. Well DUH I sew so I can fix that. So this culotte jumpsuit was a must make for me. I don’t have anything like it in my wardrobe.

I have been in LOVE with cobalt blue for a while now. I think it started around the time Tany posted this gorgeous outfit:

Culotte Jumpsuit Spring Trend

Hello gorgeous! Tany is an amazing seamstress and person. Sweet as pie and always very helpful. I’ve said that before but she truly is amazing.

When my patterns arrived in the mail I knew I would be going on a trip so I grabbed my cobalt blue fabric and got started.

I LOVE this jumpsuit!!! It was perfect for our Sunday morning breakfast on the beach 🙂

I kept all my accessories pretty simple. Looking back I should have taken my necklace off or wore a shorter one, but I’ll remember that next time 🙂

I love the color that the belt and my clutch added. It made me smile. My shoes, I LOVE and I had no idea I had so much fabric that matched them exactly when I purchased them. I wear them every chance I get.

For those of you who sew, here is a review:

Vogue 9075

Pattern Description: Dress or jumpsuit has close-fitting, lined bodice with princess seams, side pockets, stitched hem and back zipper. B: wide-legged, pleated pants.

I made the jumpsuit.

Pattern Sizing:14-16

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? These instructions are very well written.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love that this pattern is on trend for Spring 2015

Fabric Used: Polyester Blend

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I’m 5’5. The pants are VERY long. They hit me on my ankle. I shortened them by almost 5 inches. It was NOT attractive on me in that long length.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I MIGHT make this one again. I will  be making the dress.

Conclusion: This pattern is a winner! Pick it up if you like this style!

Adrienne thanks for this review. I did not love this pattern at first but you and Ericka Bunker have sold me on it. I will be attempting to make it soon. I have the pattern cut out I just have to hope I have enough fabric on hand in my stash. Thanks for the inspiration to try this jumpsuit.

I’m going to make this to wear to a tea at church. I’m having a hard time picking the right fabric. What do you recommend? Also, did you have to make any modifications to the bodice? I just LOVE this!!!!! Stunning, stunning, STUNNING.

    • AEadmin/ 28.04.2015Reply

Thank you thank you!! I didn’t make any modifications. I love that you can use a woven OR a knit. I would use a ponte knit. That’s what I’m using when I make it again 🙂
