Classic Red Dress

Hey guys! You all know as much as I love the trends, I’m a classic girl at heart. One thing that I needed in my wardrobe was a classic red dress.

Classic Red Dress

What I love most about this dress is the side ruching and the neckline.

classic red dressIt is such a flattering look!

classic red dressI normally don’t wear my arms out at church so I decided on my animal print cardigan, red shoes, neutral purse

and simple accessories to complete the look.

Dress: DIY Vogue 8706

Shoes: Zara

Cardigan: Target

Purse: Old, Unknown

Accessories: Old, Unknown

For those of you who sew here is a review:

Vogue 8706

Pattern Description: Close-fitting, above mid-knee length, bias pullover dress has gathers, mock wrap front with asymmetrical seaming, piping at armholes and stitched hem.

Pattern Sizing: 6-12

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions are easy to ME, however I can see how the facing could be confusing if you are a newbie or new to sewing Vogue patterns.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Love this entire pattern. Nothing at all to dislike.

Fabric Used: Ponte knit from my stash

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I didn’t like the way the piping looked on the armhole so I just finished off the edges and sewed it down.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I plan on making this again in black and I’ll draft sleeves for it. I LOVE this dress. I HIGHLY recommend it if you can find it. It’s now OOP (Out Of Print).

Conclusion: Great pattern, very figure flattering and I love it.

YAAAAAASSSSSSSS honey!!!! YASSSSSS! LOL. I LOVE the dress, the way it’s figure-flattering (not too tight). The design of the dress is simply amazing! I would rock this!!! I love that you paired the dress with the animal print cardigan. I wish I could see a pic of you with the cardigan on. But yes, this is a 10 in my book. You did that thing. I thank God for your gift of sewing/fashion.
