Blue Faux Leather Dress

Blue Faux Leather Dress

I am crushing hard on cobalt blue. HARD lol. I have had this cobalt blue faux leather in my stash for a while and decided a few weeks ago that I HAD to have a blue faux leather dress.

I searched my ENTIRE pattern stash to see what dress I wanted to make and I wasn’t moved. Then I saw a dress on Pinterest:

I said this is PERFECT!

I kept all my accessories neutral. I have had this coat for YEARS. It’s my favorite from Banana Republic. They have AMAZING outerwear.

Love doesn’t begin to describe how I feel about this dress. It was my first time making a FULL dress using faux leather but it was fun!

I only wanted one statement piece so I wore this necklace. I got this early last year from an eBay seller out of China lol. It was like $10 bucks. I’ll try and see if I can find them again.

One of my favorite songs by Trip Lee came on and I had to get a dance in lol. I had no idea Kayla was still taking pictures but they were too fun not to include lol. If you know me you know I LOVE music. LOUD music. Very loud lol.

For those of you who sew, here is a review:

New Look 6223

Pattern Description: Misses’ dress with side pockets & back zipper can be made sleeveless, with cap sleeves or with slightly ruched short sleeves. Bodice has darts or asymmetrical draping.  I made view D

Pattern Sizing: 8-18 I cut the 12

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn’t use them. I’ve made this pattern once before but they are written very well.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?  I love this pattern.

Fabric Used: Faux Leather

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I lengthened the sleeves and shortened the dress by 3 inches.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? This is a TNT. This is a great pattern and very versatile. I love it.

Conclusion: Great pattern! Pick it up if you like this style.

Love this! I like how you used blue instead of the “normal” black.

Lovely and I agree with Janelle…I’m so happy you selected something other than Black, I think it shows your personality well too! Great job! You forgot to highlight those GORGEOUS shoes though!

Saw your dress on Pattern Review and had to visit your blog to see more of this lovely dress!!! So pretty. I am curious what was your source for this faux leather? Such a pretty color and rather drapey not stiff. Most of my faux leather is thicker/heavier.

Thanks Linda! I got it from Metro Textiles in NY last year.
