African Print Jacket & Denim | Vogue 9037

Hey guys! I received so many emails about the jacket that I was wearing during Magic City Classic that I had to hurry up and post pictures of it.

**THIS JACKET IS AVAILABLE FOR CUSTOM ORDERS. PLEASE EMAIL ESSENTIALSBYA@GMAIL.COM  OR USE THE ADRIENNE’S ESSENTIALS CONTACT FORM FOR INFORMATION.**

I actually changed clothes for halftime. If you know ANYTHING about tailgating, you KNOW not to wear anything you don’t want to mess up lol. I originally had on a long sleeve AAMU shirt and jeans (that are still in the dirty laundry hamper lol) but I KNEW I didn’t want to wear that for my pictures with the color guard.

When I was trying to decide what I wanted to wear for my pictures (because pictures are FOREVER AND EVER) I went back and forth between a LOT of stuff. I had THE most amazing t-shirts/sweatshirts made (because I didn’t know what the weather was going to be like, I had BOTH made). I was SOLD on that idea until I thought about the pictures. Yes, it’s branding at it’s finest but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that’s NOT what I wanted to look at forever and ever lol.

African Print & Denim

I went through my stash and I picked another print but this one won the contest.

African Print & Denim

This print was perfect for my jacket. I didn’t want a typical jacket or anything heavyweight and this was exactly what I needed.

I kept my accessories very simple. I wanted my jacket to be the focus on my outfit.

I decided a purchased belt would be better than a fabric one with this jacket.

For those of you who sew, here is a review:

Vogue 9037

Pattern Description: Loose-fitting, unlined, double-breasted jacket has collar variations, front and back tucks, shaped front hemline and snap closing. C: side pockets. A and C: self belt. Note: No provisions provided for above waist adjustment. I made view B

Pattern Sizing: 6-14. I made the 12

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? I actually followed them step by step for the purpose of this review and they are VERY well written.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?  I loved the style of this jacket.

Fabric Used: Ankara Wax Fabric

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? YES! I plan on making this again. I LOVE this pattern.

Conclusion: This is a GREAT pattern. I should have made this a size smaller since I was wearing it as a shirt and not “regular jacket”. Had I planned on wearing anything under it other than a tank top, it would have been perfect.
