Finally! The pictures are up! lol These pictures were either taken by myself or Kayla. I don’t know when I will see the pictures that the photographer took. Be sure you are following us on Facebook  because as SOON as she posts them I’ll share them there lol

Here is a video of the show so you can see the designs in motion: Adrienne’s Essentials Fashion Show Video

Let’s get started.

When I started thinking about the items I wanted to design/custom make, I already had a general idea of what I wanted to do BUT I waited until the models were selected before I went forward. I wanted to make sure that each and every design complimented each model.

First up is our 16 year old lol. She was SUPER DUPER cute lol. I wanted to make sure she stayed looking like a teenager. You all know I LOVE an african print skirt so I went with this white/black african print mini skirt, white t-shirt and fringe necklace. Since she is so young and youthful we went for bare feet with these cute little fringe anklets.

Her mom Shunta (who is also my hair stylist- check her out at iStyle Salon & Barber Shop 205-516-0067) is beautiful! She had a fresh new look and I wanted to make sure nothing competed with her beautiful face.

I put her in a printed long tunic and flowy pants. The obi belt pulls it all together and keeps the relaxed fit from swallowing her small frame.

Jumpsuits are every.single.thing. I LOVE prints so I HAD to put Crystal in this wide leg jumpsuit with bishop sleeves. So on trend for this fall. 70’s inspiration at it’s best!

This being my first show, I worked with a LOT of knits. Why? They are EASY lol. I already had a lot of sewing and fitting to do so I kept it easy. Real talk. I kept this gown very simple. Shayla is such a beautiful woman (like all of my models) so I knew this would look great on her. I used a superb neoprene for this sleeveless high neck dress. I wanted to keep the back of the dress a little long (you know for dramatics) so I hemmed the front just enough for her shoes to peek out.

Christina, who was also our makeup artist (like she’s amazing. If you need someone CALL HER) was FIERCE. Originally she had a color block dress but the DAY before the show I decided to make her something else. I was NOT happy with her original look so I prayed and RAN to hancock to pick up some more fabric. You can’t see the detail here but it’s black/black quilted ponte. It’s AMAZING. I love the added detail of the fringe belt. It gave it some movement on the runway.

Let me tell you how much fun I had with Shunta and this sequin top and high-low puffy skirt. A TON. This sequin top looks like a liquid shiny shirt and I am HERE for it. This skirt is made out of the most luxurious cotton silk sateen that I have EVER worked with. I knew when I was shopping for this skirt that it would take a LOT of fabric so I purchased about 10 yards and boy am I glad. I am SO glad I have some of this left over and I can not wait to use it.

To make the skirt puff I added (literally) about 35 yards of tulle to the inside of the skirt. It took up the most room on my garment rack lol. Oh, I also added this sparkly mesh as a belt. I love it.

All of these looks are my favorite (for obvious reasons) but doesn’t Jennifer look superb? Jennifer has a small frame but I knew immediately which dress I would put her in. My favorite part of this dress is the bow. I mean REALLY. It’s a BIG SPARKLY BOW.

I’ve known Jamica for about 5 years and she loves sparkly just as much as I do. There was NO doubt that she would wear this gorgeous fully lined sequin skirt with a slight train. This skirt picks up so much light. It is stunning. And I’m not just saying that because I made it with my own two hands lol.

Tonya is my favorite model, yes I’m a little bit bias but let me tell you why. She is an amazing beauty and a true plus size. I wanted my show to include EVERY size and I’m SO glad she sent an email when we announced the call. There was NO doubt when I saw her that she would be in this show. She’s my favorite because I learned a few new techniques working with her frame. I got ALL the ta-tas in that sequin BEAUTIFULLY! Let us ALL thank God for the gift that He gave me lol. She looks AMAZING and I’m so proud of myself lol.

I HAD to end the show in all white. Arena kill-T her look. She is SO tall. She has a 38 inch inseam so you do the math lol. I knew what I wanted her in and didn’t change my mind AT ALL. Her jumpsuit is FIRECE and perfect for a wedding, wouldn’t you agree? The fabric that I used for this one is another amazing cotton silk sateen that is SO amazing.  I am also in love with this sparkly mesh that I used down the side seam.

These fashions are awesome! I’m so happy for you and your success! I love that you included all sizes in your show. The dress you created for Tonya looks great and she looks fabulous in it. I’m curious to know if the dress you created for Christina will come in other colors?

Adrienne!!!! You did an amazing job! I love these pieces! The white jumpsuit with the sparkly stripe has to be my favorite. Aside from that your outfit for the show was on fleek! Much success to you!

I love the fashions. The youthful 16 year old in the barefoot was most thoughtful. Tonya, your “true” plus size is what I would love to see more of on the runway. So many shows have plus size on the runway and that’s usually a 12 or 14. I think you put a lot of effort into your show and I love your growth. Thanks for posting the pics and I can’t wait till your next post.

    • AEadmin/ 25.09.2015Reply

Thank you so much!! That’s EXACTLY why I wanted true plus size. I appreciate your kind words.

  • Myra/ 25.09.2015Reply
