Q: Why should I buy custom?
A:There are many advantages to a wardrobe or single items made just for you. The first advantage you may think of is fit. And while the fit of custom clothing is naturally far superior to “off the rack” stuff, the advantages of endless fabric and styling options also add greatly to the value. We take great care to fit your frame in the most flattering way, not only through accurate measuring, but by making sure the styles and fabric choices are best for you.
Q: Do you have a boutique where I can come in and purchase clothing?
A: No, everything is made to order so we don’t have stock where you can purchase items that are made.
Q: Can we just show up during business hours to have our measurements taken?
A: No. Our business hours are Monday -Friday 9am-5pm BY APPOINMENT ONLY. The last time slot available is 4pm. You can schedule your appointment here: http://www.adriennemnixon.com/schedule-appointment/
Q: Do you keep fabric in stock?
A: No, all fabric for our garments is ordered for each client. You choose your own fabrics based on your preferences.
Q: Why does it take 2-3 weeks to have clothing made?
A: Once we have our initial meeting and your measurements are taken, fabric has to be ordered, patterns have to be made and you have to be fit before your fashion fabric is cut to be sewn. In some cases (depending on the item) it can take longer than 3 weeks but you will be advised when placing your order.
Q: Can I choose my fabric when I’m in your studio?
A: Yes & No. I keep swatch books for my most popular fabrics. If those fabrics apply to what you are having made then yes. If you are having a garment made that requires a different fabric then I will send you pictures and order swatches for you. You can choose based on the pictures or wait until the swatches arrive to choose your fabrics.
Q: How far in advance do you need to place your order?
A: Always keep in mind that it takes 2-3 weeks to have a garment made. So if at all possible one month before your event.
Q: Do you offer payment plans?
A: We offer payment plans in SPECIAL circumstances. Our policy is 75% down on MOST items and the remaining balance when your item is finished.
Q: Why is custom clothing so expensive?
A: Each item is made one by one. By hand. It is not mass produced clothing in a factory.
Q: Do you only sew by patterns?
A: No. I can make something for you from a pattern or design an item specifically for you.
Q: Is your clothing true to size?
A: Our clothing is based on your measurements. So it’s very true to YOUR size.
Q: Do you ship to other states?
A: Yes, we ship all over the United States.
Q:Do you offer sewing classes?
A: No, at this time we do not offer sewing classes.
Q: Do you post tutorials?
A: No, we don’t offer tutorials.
