Vision Board 2011
Back in December I went to Mo's vision board party. Here is a picture of my board.
This board represents me and my family and some goals I have for us.
I picked these words and phrases to surrond my family because I only want the best for us. I TRULY believe that there is power in the tongue and you can SPEAK things into being. My family is what is most important to me. You see I was one of those people who took my family for granted. Sure I love them, but I didn't APPRECIATE them. When you are around people ALL THE TIME, sometimes you tend to get complaciant. Well maybe not you but "I" did. I would put any and everything before them and their needs and I was THINKING I was doing what I was supposed to do as a wife and mother. Umm no. HUGE FAIL on my part, but the thing is once I REALIZED where I was messing up, I changed all of that.
One of my favorite quotes on this board is the one that says, "Made for us time in the middle of family time". That is SO me and Tony. We love family time but we love being able to have time just for "us".
That doesn't mean that they don't get on my LAST complete nerve, it just means I know how to appreciate the good and not so good.
I loved the "never look back". On top of that I taped..love the present. That is the best and only way to live. We can't let our past mistakes mess up our present. The future isn't promised so there is no need to worry about that. All we can do is live in the NOW. That doesn't mean don't plan….just enjoy RIGHT NOW.
This scripture has been my foundation. I am truly standing on the words. If you just THINK about what that means….yep. Foundation.
I'll add to this as the year progresses, and as I accomplish some things that are on here, I will take some away. I love, love, love mine 🙂
I really enjoyed creating my vision board and plan to go back to Atlanta when Mo has her next one and I want to have one here for my friends.
Do you all have a vision board? What type of things are on it?
Toodles!

Every year before NYE, I make the next year’s vision board. Last year I made my board on 12/30/10. I also made a digital board(via Oprah’s website) so that as soon as I power on my laptop..I’m reminded of my goals.
I like you, had a tendency to put any and everything before my fam. I’m working to remedy that. They are my rock and I refuse to put ANYTHING before them ever again. I also have quite a few financial things on my boards.
I want to really SAVE money this year and stop the reckless spending #teamnospend. I want to raise my credit score, have a decent savings acct, and be in the position to trade my car in soon.
I also plan to excel in my career/school plans.
I want to be healthier. My eating habits aren’t the best and I need to tighten all of that up.
My BIG goal is to take my family on a cruise this year and so far things are definitely in motion.
I also have a scripture on my board…”Faith w/out works is dead”.

I made a virtual one on the Oprah website and I have saved it as my screensaver so I look at it every day. I have a lot of travel goals, diet goals, and more fun goals!

What a great vision board! I too heard about vision boards through Oprah, and created my own a few years ago to help me lose baby weight–it worked! I think having a vision for your life is key, because if you don’t other people will! That is a good foundational scripture as well. It is good when we don’t put limits on God’s ability, for He is limitless!!

Things appear in your life when you need them. I LOVE this idea and I am going to make a vision board when I get home tonight. I’ve been writing myself lists of things I want in the next 1, 2 and 3 years but doing this is so much better. I will hang it in a spot above my sewing table. I even have the perfect size corkboard all reayd and waiting. Thank you for such wonderful inspiration!

I LOVE your board and I don’t have one, so guess what I’m going home and make me one! This is an AWESOME IDEA and I might just have to look into hosting a vision board party for my friends after I get mine done! That sounds like fun! Thanks for sharing!

That’s a very fine vision board. I have one that is 2 or 3 years old… Time to make another!

I like your vision board and its focus on family. I think everyone has taken their family for granted at least once. Thanks for sharing your story and reminding us to enjoy the NOW! When Will and Jada Smith were on Oprah they spoke of marriage plans and family plans in the same way that people develop business plans and that really resonated with me. My husband and I will be putting together a plan for our marriage and family this year. Maybe we’ll use a vision board to depict it.

I didn’t know I could make an virtual one through Oprah’s site. I’m going to do that. Last year was my first time making one and I made my second one at the end of last year. I do plan on blogging about my board like I did last year.

I like you vision broad and the concept surrounding it. I might have to borrow that idea.

Hey Lady:
That is just beautiful! Love the mottos and that piece of Scripture that is your foundation. There is much to be said about words and how we use them. I’ll write quotes on slips of paper and keep them near me, tucked away in places so I can pull them out when I really need it. Thanks so much for sharing! Vision boards, gonna make one! 🙂

You inspire me to create one for myself!
