Soul Food, My Walk with God | Encourage Yourself
Jaelyn has been in school exactly one month today and she called home and she kinda had a case of the blues.
I knew it would happen (still waiting on it to happen to me, as of today I’m still good lol) so I was prepared.
In our home we use the Word of God for every situation. Now along with that we also have everyday practical advise but the Word is the gold standard. If that makes sense.
Here are a few of the scriptures I shared with her. Hopefully they will bless you as will.
When you are going through things, do what you have to do in order to make it out on top.
David Encouraged himself in the Lord. I hope you will find strength to do the same.
Philippians 4:6 ESV
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
1 Samuel 30:6
And David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in soul, each for his sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.
1 Peter 5:7 ESV
Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
Philippians 4:13 ESV
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
Romans 8:28 ESV
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Jeremiah 29:11-13 ESV
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 ESV
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Philippians 3:13-14 ESV
Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
1 John 1:8-10 ESV
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Psalm 138:8 King James Version (KJV)
8 The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.
