Soul Food: My Walk With God
Faith is a funny, funny thing. When I think about how much faith we are SUPPOSED to have:
…for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. (Matthew 17:20)
It’s baffling when I can’t even “muster” up that much faith. Have you ever seen a mustard seed? It is SO tiny. If you have it in your hand and drop it you may as well give up and go do something else because you will never find it.
I’m not sure about you but there have been times, even recently when my faith has NOT been strong. There have been times when I don’t even know if I HAD faith. There have also been times when my faith was so strong NOTHING could convince me otherwise.
I often equate faith with trust. If I don’t have faith does that mean that I don’t trust God? If I trust God but don’t have faith how does that work?
All I REALLY know is that God will perfect that which concerns me.(Psalm 138:8)
The end of a thing is better than the beginning. (Ecclesiastes 7:8)
What you sow in tears, you will reap in joy. (Psalms 126:5)
No matter what you go through, keep the promises of God in your heart.
I hope you are encouraged. I know I have encouraged myself 🙂
