No Judgement Zone | Soul Food My Walk with God

It has been a LONG time since I’ve done one of these and y’all have called me out lol. You can read more of the ones I’ve written HERE.

Soul Food My Walk with God is just that. Food for the soul. Lessons I’m learning as I continue to walk with God. DAILY.  I’m not a preacher, just trying to live my life the way God says.

Today I want to share a couple of text messages between my friend and I. Don’t worry, I have her permission lol.

Judgement among people is HORRIBLE. It happens daily. I think it happens so often that we don’t realize we are doing it.

Before I get into it, what does the Bible say about judging one another?

Don’t speak evil against each other, dear brothers and sisters. If you criticize and judge each other, then you are criticizing and judging God’s law. But your job is to obey the law, not to judge whether it applies to you.  James 4:11 New Living Translation 

“Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.  Matthew 7:1 New Living Translation

“And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?  Luke 6:41 New Living Translation

You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things.  Romans 2:1 New Living Translation

So don’t make judgments about anyone ahead of time–before the Lord returns. For he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. Then God will give to each one whatever praise is due.  1 Corinthians 4:5 New Living Translation

Ok so you get the idea. We are all so quick to judge (yes I have to catch myself as well) when we really have NO right to.  I love that last scripture where it says, God will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. So when folks start talking about “God knows my heart”, he REALLY does lol.

Anyhoo, the text messages Lisa sent me a few months back I saved because it said something about my character and the person I’m becoming:

Let me tell y’all about Lisa. Chileeeee she has seen me at my WORST.  Going against what God word says 100%. ALL THE WAY AGAINST IT.  She didn’t throw me out like yesterdays trash. She didn’t talk about me like a dog to other folks, she loved me and encouraged me to do better, because  I KNEW better.

She saw God do a TOTAL work in me and when I say TOTAL? I mean TOTAL lol.

What if it would have been different? What if it was God working through the love she showed me. Had she not been there for me in the horrible times, would I be where I am now? Not saying I’ve arrived or anything – because I haven’t but you get what I’m saying.

Be careful how you treat people. We really are our brothers keeper.
