Summer Reading | What’s on my Nightstand
I have ALWAYS loved to read. There is nothing like escaping everyday life in a good book!
Last year I had a goal to read the entire bible in a year. I can honestly say it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done lol. I love God’s word more than anything but that was hard. I did it and I’m proud of myself. I wasn’t reading for understanding but when certain scriptures would “catch my eye” I would pause and study them out. I even ran across stuff and I was like whoaaaa I didn’t know that was scripture lol. Now that I’ve read it in it’s entirety, I’m studying it daily during my devotion time at home.
Back to the books.
I LOVE TO READ. So do my kids. ESPECIALLY Jaelyn. She has more books than I do. Well, not if you count the ones on my kindle but I digress lol.
Three books I’ve finished recently are:
Instinct by TD Jakes (I am not a huge Jakes fan at all. Nothing against him but my mom told me to give this book a try and it has some GEMS in it.)
and I’ve started a series:
The Prey Series by John Sanford — Since I’ve started this list I have quit this series lol. It gave me bad dreams.
Christian books are my all time favorite. I love how they can tell a great story but still weave in Gods love.
My ALL time favorite christian book is Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. I read that book about 15 years ago and it’s STILL my favorite. I’ve purchased it so many times and given it away. I love it just that much.
Anyway, I’ll read just about anything…EXCEPT Er.oti-ca. That’s not really my cup of tea.
What good books are you reading lately? Give me something new to put on my list.

Hey Adrienne, I also like to read Christian books that inspire and encourage me in my walk with Lord. I’ve finished reading “Cross Roads” by William Paul Young, he also wrote “The Shack”. A while back I read “A Woman After God’s Own Heart” by Elizabeth George and I’m currently reading a book of devotions by Nick Vujicic entitled “Limitless”. There is another book that I would like to read titles “The 10 Second Rule” by Clare De Graaf. Thanks for sharing your summer readings…Blessings to you and your family.

I have read and listened to Redeeming Love so many times and it still does not get old. She has another that is just as good called Bridge to Haven.
Try the O’Malley series by Dee Henderson and the 911 Series and Cape Refuge Series by Terri Blackstock.
You may also like *********The Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers. **********
All great reads.
These are all great Christian authors.
Let me know what you think.
