On my nightstand…
Here are some books that I read this year and never got around to reviewing lol. I have ONE that my friend mailed me that I'm not going to read until next week sooooo here we go:
I must say that I enjoyed them ALL except Getting To Happy. I don't know. I didn't even finish it.
My all time favorite book this year was 32 Candles.
My favorite Author this year was Jodi Picoult – Her work is so amazing to me.
What has been your favorite book this year? Favorie Author. Discover anyone new?
Toodles!

DId you like Sexual Healing? I read it years ago and just did not like it.
I like Pearl Cleage.
I am not sure I had a favorite book this year. However my favorite authors are Francis Ray and Beverly Jenkins.
I discovered two new authors Kimberly Kaye Terry and Stephanie Morris.

Apart from the Jodie Picoult books you pictured, I’ve never heard of any of them. Will look out for them next time I’m at the library.
I’ve just finished reading Sara Donati’s “Into the Wilderness” and am currently reading “Person of Interest” by Theresa Schwegel and “First Family” by David Baldacci. I couldn’t tell you my favourite author/book this year – I’ve read so many books and they’re all my favourites as I’m reading them!

I’ve read both of the Jodi Picoult books, the Eric Jerome Dickey book and Getting to Happy which didn’t bother me so much. I was just glad that Terry McMillan had finally written a book that made some sense again! *LOL*
Happy New Year!

Oooh, thanks for posting these. I want to read that one with Clinton on it. That seems like it would be good. I didn’t care for Getting To Happy either. The end seemed kinda rushed.

Darius Jones is a super good read. My favorite books this year has been The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Girl who played with fire. Taking a pause before I read the last of the Millennium-trilogy. So right now I’m reading Dead Men Don’t Crochet… totally left field…lol

I also read 32 Candles and loved it. My 2 favorite books this year were The New York Regional Mormon Singles Halloween Dance: A Memoir by Elna Baker and The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot.

I read “Getting to Happy”. I was looking forward to finding out what happened to the characters. I guess reading the book took care of that. I sometimes wonder if there was any way to really please the fans of “waiting to exhale”. If Bernadine, Gloria, Robin and Savannah would have been happy, how many would have harped about it not being boring or unrealistic? Hmm.

Putting these on my lists. I read “Tempted By Trouble” a few months ago.

I love Jill Nelson! I thought Sexual Healing was creative and a good read. Haven’t read Let’s Get It On because it’s not available for my Kindle. =(
I bought Getting to Happy in order to support a fellow writer, but I doubt I’ll ever read it.
Love Pearl Cleage also. I have Til You Hear From Me on the shelf, but haven’t gotten around to it yet. What Looks Like Crazy is one of my favorite books.
Good reads lady!

I’m surprised about the thoughts about Getting to Happy. I just thought it would be a good book. However, my favorite author this year was Kimberla Lawson Roby. I’m trying to finish her Curtis Black series, before the next one comes out in a few weeks. I want to read some of Jodi Picoult’s books in 2011 and check out that Clinton Kelly one too!

I LOVED 32 Candles as well. That reminds me, one of my homegirls needs to hurry and give it back!
I have Sexual Healing, but I am not sure why I haven’t read it. I love all Pearl Cleage and Eric Jerome Dickey books and I have read the two that you have listed.

I read Sexual Healing years ago. I don’t remember much about it, but I thought it was pretty good. I haven’t read an Eric Jerome Dickey or Mary Morrison book in years. I felt all of Ms. Morrison’s book were starting to feel the same. I have the Steig Larson trilogy, but have yet to get around to reading it.

I’ve heard about Jodi Picoult’s books. I’m intrigued and will check out a few. I’ve been browsing books to download to my e-reader and you’ve given me quite a few to consider.

I just didn’t enjoy 19 Minutes. I started out enjoying it and ended up hating it. I find myself feeling that way about most Jodi Picoult books. She’s just not “my” author I guess! I know a lot of people love her!

Whew!(fans self). Reading some of these titles and looking at the cover is too hot for me. (Although if it comes out in a movie, I WILL watch it.) 😉
