Garnet Hill Knock off Tshirt

Garnet Hill Knock off Tshirt

I was doing some blog reading and ran across this post:

http://www.bluecricketdesign.net/2010/08/garnet-hill-shirt-knock-off-by-dream.html

I fell in LOVE. How cute is this shirt?

Of course I had to make my own! LOL

I followed the simple instructions she gave to the letter lol

I purchased two tshirts. I got the 10-12 for me to wear, and the 14-16 for me to cut up.

I cut the shirt into strips, then cut those strips into sections.

I took those sections and cut out a “flower type shape”. They were NOT perfect lol.

I took those shapes and put some in groups of two, kept some single and did a basting stitch on my machine.

I took them, pulled the top thread to gather them up and then tied the two ends of the thread on the top to secure it.

**TIP** use a contrasting color on the bobbin thread. That will come in handy when you start cutting thread lol<—-don’t EVEN ask lol.

I hand sewed all those flowers on the tshirt and then sewed the leaves down with my machine and voila! lol

This one has more volume than the original shirt but I like it. The girls are already begging for one lol. I’ll make it but we can’t wear it all on the same day lol.

I love that this isn’t just a “t-shirt”. It’s a little more jazzy. Has a little “umph” to it!

Coming soon, building my basic wardrobe, books, and some knitting plans.

Toodles!

Thanks for stopping by!!! I am so happy your husband is better, hopefully he will have a full recovery very soon.
The shirt looks pretty good! And for the price it’s just a steal. Hope all continue to be well.

Super cute!! The flowers look like something Santino put on a dress on the Austin & Santino road trip show! I’ve Tivoed the show a few times, have you watched it? I am sort of “meh” about this season of Project Runway compared to the previous ones, speaking of PR and past designers.

I think it’s super cute. Too bad the girls are too big for me to wear the flowers across my chest. It would make a nice decorative on a skirt.
