September Weight Loss Challenge

September Weight Loss Challenge

Single Ma over at Fabulous Financials is having a weight loss challenge.

I have not been consistant with working out since BEFORE my cruise! Y'all know that was in April right? lol I've worked out here or there but NOTHING like I was before.

Finding out about this challenge was the motivation I needed to get it in gear.  Some of y'all might be good at working out on your own, but I'll admit that I've gotten lazy.

I NEED to get this extra weight off me and I need to keep it off.

My goal for the month is 10lbs. That is SO doable.

My eating goals are to watch my portion sizes (since Tony is diabetic, I'm doing this now anyway-everyone is eating better) and eat healthy snacks. I don't give up foods. I say everything in moderation is key. NO WAY I'm giving up cake or cookies or anything like that. I'll just watch what I'm eating.

My exercise goals are to walk/run 3 miles 3 days a week and do my wii fit workout two days a week. That will have me moving and grooving 5 days a week. I WANT to do a low key day of yoga. I've never done it before so this will be intersting! LOL

That's about it. I'm excited AND motivated!

I so need to jump on this bandwagon. I lost 30 pounds last year while I was in school, which I gained most back after graduation, and over the last month I’ve lost 15. So I know I can do it,I’m just lazy. I have a membership to the gym and I have been maybe twice since the second month of becoming a member. SMH

Cool, congrats! That sounds like a doable schedule. I run/walk every day, but I only do 2 miles a day. I do need to do more yoga again. I think you’ll like yoga if you find the right teacher/approach. I don’t like it when it’s too new-agey, I like it better when it’s about the exercise itself.

There is one thing I had to give up.. Popcorn.. It is not worth the spike in my glucose level. Seriously I love popcorn..
White grapes also do this so I avoid them as well. Everything else I can eat moderately. However let me say this some fruit juices are not work the spikes.. I can get less sugar in a soda…

Good luck with your weight loss goals. I have been doing WW and have lost 5% of my body weight. I CAN NOT make myself exercise consistently. I could be at goal already if I could. I am cheering you on in your effort.

I checked out the link for the weight loss challenge too. I’m thinking about trying it too. But I think I’ll start tomorrow. So I’ll be a day late! LOL!
    Good Luck!

Does the Wii fit work? I was curious about and thought about getting it. Before I turned 30 I weighed 98 pounds now I weigh 125 at 5’1 which is a bit much. I gave up soda and all I drink is water and my portions got way smaller but I hate to exercise even though it would be good for me. Got any good ideas? Yoga? Never tried it.

This is National Yoga Month and to celebrate a lot of studios are giving passes for free yoga classes for a week! Go to yogamonth.org and see if there is one near you. Sorry, I didn’t mean for that to sound like an ad. They aren’t paying me, I promise! LOL! I just like to tell people about free stuff!

Hey you posted too late! I would have jumped on that wagon. I’m still doing WW and my goal for the rest of the year is 5 lbs. a month. I wish you luck. I know you can do it.

I am coming late to this party, but staying healthy is important if I want to stay around a little longer.
