Denim & Leopard

Hey guys! I hope you all had a great weekend! I am SO excited about fall that I can barely stand it.

Denim & leopard is one of my favorite combinations!

I fell in LOVE with this dress when Vogue Patterns released it and knew immediately what fabric I wanted to use.
I am all about the dramatic sleeve this year. It’s a hot trend for Fall 2015. Check out this article on Fall Trends from one of my favorite sites Refinery29.com

Naturally I knew these shoes would be great since I am also in love with all things “marsala”. You did know that it’s the 2015 color of the year, right? I LOVE to see what colors will be picked each year. It’s great when working with my clients who want to stay on trend and in the now.

For those of you who sew, here is a review:

Vogue 9123
Pattern Description:  Loose-fitting, lined jacket has front button closing, side pockets and self-belt. Topstitching. Lined dress has fitted bodice, semi-fitted skirt, sleeve flounce, and back zipper.

Pattern Sizing: 6-14

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow?I didn’t use them. They are well written.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved the style of the dress.

Fabric Used: Stretch denim

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I cut the 12 for the top and graded out to the 14 on the hips. I tapered the skirt 1.5 inches on each side. 

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I don’t know if I will make this one again but if you like this style I say go for it!

Conclusion: Great pattern and it’s on trend for Fall 2015
