Little Red Dress

Hey ya’ll!

It’s almost Valentine’s Day and everyone will be wearing red. I know I will be hehehehehehe. I have no idea what I’ll be doing as of right now but I’ll be ready for whatever. Let me show you my first little red dress:

25a

I didn’t realize how many red dresses I had in my collection until I was ready to make a new one. I love this dress. One of my sewing friends says that ruching hides a multitude of sins. I totally agree lol

I LOVE the ruching on this dress. It’s actually what drew me to this particular pattern. I think it would look really pretty in contrasting colors. I don’t have a defined waist but this gives the slight illusion of one. I’ll take it!

I kept my accessories and shoes minimal. These rose gold sandals are just perfect.

I have to give a HUGE shout out to my daughter Kayla for taking such awesome pictures of her mommy. Not too shabby for a 17 year old. Seriously, she is REALLY getting good with the camera.

For those of you who sew, here is a review:

Pattern Description: Very close-fitting pullover top, tunic and dresses have front princess seams, ruched front panel, sleeve and neckline variations. A, C: Draped collar. D: Wide collar, contrast sides/sleeves. A: Long sleeves. B: Short sleeves. C: Sleeveless. D: Three-quarter length sleeves.

Pattern Sizing: 6-14

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? VERY easy

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved all the ruching on this pattern.

Fabric Used: ITY

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made view C but did NOT like the neckline. It felt constricted so I took it off. I also tapered the bottom of the dress.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I don’t think I will make this one again but if you like this style, go for it!

Conclusion: Great pattern and a great addition to my wardrobe.

Thank you! I’ll look it up and get it to you. It’s a McCall’s but I can’t remember the number.

Beautiful dress. It reminds me of a party dress my mother had a long time ago. It was a light apricot satin with ruching along the front center just like this dress. Beautiful!
