2nd Annual Prom Dress Giveaway
It’s that time of year! If you have signed up for my Newsletter you have already gotten the announcement about our 2nd Annual Prom Dress Giveaway. Words can’t express how excited I am about this.
This is Joi, who received the custom dress for Prom 2015. She’s such a wonderful girl!
Here is just a LITTLE excerpt of who Joi is and what she had to say about being our first winner (She is currently enrolled at the University of Alabama):
“My name is Joi Atkins and I am a student at P.D Jackson Olin High School. Around my school I am known as the senior class Vice President, captain of the Dazzling Diamonds Flag Team, a member of HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America), and a member of the Academy of Health Science. Despite the many adversities I have faced, it has not stopped my determination to succeed beyond measure. I am currently ranked #6 in my class with a 3.85 G.P.A. and graduating with an Academic Advanced Honors Diploma with Career Technical Endorsements. After graduation I will be attending the University of Alabama. I plan to pursue my Bachelor’s in Nursing, and after the completion of that program I plan to pursue a Masters in the pediatric nurse practitioner graduate program.”
“When I received Mrs. Adrienne’s phone call telling me that I had been nominated and won a custom prom dress, I was in utter disbelief. I spent the whole year thinking that I would not be able to attend my senior prom because I would not be able to afford it. Her decision to choose me made what was looking to be impossible a reality. It was such a pleasure working with Mrs. Adrienne.”
I stayed out with Joi the majority of the day. I was able to meet her family and friends and I think we ended up taking her somewhere across town to meet the rest of the prom folks LOL. Felt like she was one of my kids for the day. Such an amazing young lady.
Isn’t she lovely!? I don’t know who had more fun, me or Joi lol. We had so much fun shopping for shoes and accessories. Everything just went together beautifully.
I took a break from taking her photos to get a photo with her. Just a beautiful spirit. I pray that God will continue to open doors for her.
Someone asked me why I was doing this, the short version: I want to be a blessing to someone else. God has been SO good to me. He has blessed me with a gift that I actually WANT to share with others, He continues to send me new clients that turn into repeat clients and I just want to be a blessing 🙂
