Soul Food: My Walk with God

Hey guys! Y’all know I love the Lord and I don’t take my relationship with Him lightly. I love these Soul Food posts because it gives me a chance to really encourage myself and to encourage you.

We are TEN days into the New Year.

TEN

This has been one of the TOUGHEST weeks of my life. I have prayed and cried, like UGLY cry but I’m determined to trust God THROUGH it.

I sent my prayer partner (if you don’t have a prayer partner you NEED ONE) a text and she prayed with me. At one point I couldn’t even pray for myself. All I could literally say was, “Jesus”. I had NO words.

Most of you know I have a very close relationship with my mom and she told to listen to this song: There’s a blessing on the other side of through by James Bignon I have played it DAILY.

Why am I being so transparent? Because I want YOU to know that it will be ok (and I’m telling myself that too). In “my” world, things aren’t perfect and this first week of the new year I have been shown just how quickly things can go from good to literally all hell breaking loose.

There are two scriptures that ALWAYS come to mind when I’m having some type of personal crisis:

Psalm 138:8 The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

Ecclesiastes 7:8 Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.

So if you are going through anything right now let these scriptures comfort you. If you AREN’T going through anything, tuck these scriptures in your heart so you can encourage someone who may be.

Adrienne
